MATLAB Production Server R2017a is an application server from MathWorks that lets you run MATLAB analytics as scalable, secure services. Developers package MATLAB functions using MATLAB Compiler SDK and deploy them to the server as archives. Enterprise applications written in Java, .NET, Python, or C—and RESTful clients—can then call those functions over HTTP/HTTPS without rewriting algorithms in another language.

The server manages pools of MATLAB Runtime workers, queues and executes concurrent requests, and scales horizontally behind a load balancer to handle high throughput with low latency. It provides centralized configuration, logging, and monitoring, along with a web-based dashboard for starting and stopping instances and reviewing performance metrics. Connections can be encrypted with TLS, and the server integrates with existing enterprise infrastructure, including reverse proxies and both on-premises and cloud environments.
